The long-planned get-together of some boring old farts in an Edinburgh pub. 11am kick off for us, although for Nic on the right there it was a 3.30am start to catch his flight from Dublin for his Edinburgh day trip.

For a touch of culture we kicked off at the National Portrait Gallery for the BP portrait thing and the Document Scotland Ties that Bind exhibition.

Then a wee spot of lunch at Burger Meets Bun. It wasn’t bad enough that the burger came on brioche. There was also the shock discovery that Smith (on the left) asks for no bun and eats his burger with a knife and fork. Embarrassing. But the burgers were excellent.

And to the Cafe Royal for a day of beers and talking pish. Then Will’s doppelgänger turned up

Your Will and Mini-me is definitely vastly superior.

Don’t forget to pack your bib for the rematch in Dublin, we can have you covered in burger sauce again…

Oh, and if it’s a choice between finding space for a crate of beers and a space for the Smithzer, you know what the correct option is!

He means take me and leave the beers. Obviously.

Aye. Of course. Your user name acquires an extra ‘h’ at first glance.
